The Centre for Law, Technology and Society (CLTS) at the University of Ottawa is the leading Canadian research hub in Law and Technology. A bilingual and bijural research group, its research and policy expertise is supported by 19 full-time regular professors from the Faculties of Law, Social Science and Arts, teaching and researching law and policy in the fields of innovation, technology, security, privacy, information, communication, intellectual property, science, and traditional knowledge. The CLTS hosts three Canada Research Chairs on Internet Law, Privacy, Information and Artificial Intelligence, as well as two SSHRC Partnership Grant focusing on equality and gender online, and innovation in emerging and developing countries. The CLTS is also the home of the Samuelson-Glushko Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic (CIPPIC), a worldly recognised voice in public policy debates on technology law issues, helping to ensure balance in policy and law-making processes, providing legal assistance to under-represented organizations and individuals and regularly intervening before the Supreme Court of Canada.
